Opens today with the press conference with Lecce Municipality representative, the organizers, the journalists the International Eco-arts Residency “Nature is Us” of the project “Nature, Arts, Technologies”. NAT is co-funded by the European Union, Creative Europe program, and It is coordinated by the ITI – International Theatre Institute – Italia, in partnership with the Cyprus Centre of the ITI / Κυπριακό Κέντρο του ΔΙΘ, UNITER, HDACIS SCHOOL, and AVR Lab of the Department of Innovation Engineering of the University of Salento.
From September 7 many artists from Italy, Cyprus, Romania and Georgia will work intensively on the new joint international theatre production “Love in times of war”, directed by Fabio Tolledi, that continues the path started in these countries at the beginning of the 2025.
This intense period will feature a succession of artistic, ecological and innovative activities in the province’s parks and nature reserves, eco-artistic performances, forum meetings, international workshops and performative augmented reality interventions.
International artists and cultural operators from Georgia, Romania, Cyprus and Italy united in a intense work will take place in Lecce until the 23rd September in a path that questions the meaning of today and seeks words, images and sounds for a world experiencing profound crisis.
NAT seeks to explore the current forms of a complex relationship between humans, nature and the use of technology, positioning “Love in the times of war” as an exhortation. The delicate spaces of a suffering nature reflect the dismay at the frenzy that invokes weapons, that fosters destruction and devastation.
The aim is to explore the spaces on the edges of the city, for a necessary regeneration of the gaze that must tend toward what resists, in beauty, in the word that becomes poetry, in the dance of the senses.
“Nature, Art, Technologies” can rebuild a profound and subtle connection that restores meaning to community, indicating the possibility of rebuilding a real bond between women, men, nature.
